The time has come: our first contract in Oceania

The time has come: our first contract in Oceania. We are pleased to announce it today, in a joint statement with Squadron Energy. The Australian leader in renewables has awarded us, following an international selection process, the operation and maintenance of a new LNG terminal near Sydney. With this milestone, the global expansion of the Reganosa Group, launched in 2015, now reaches all five continents.

Under this assignment, we will carry out the O&M of the onshore facilities of the Port Kembla regasification terminal in New South Wales. The initial contract term is five years, with an option to extend for an additional three.

The facility —an industry-leading model of floating storage and regasification units (FSRU)— will be connected to the transmission network to cover up to 70% of the demand in the country’s eastern market and support peak consumption periods. It can store 170,000 cubic metres of liquefied natural gas and has a maximum capacity equivalent to 36,000 GWh per year. This strategic infrastructure aims to strengthen domestic gas distribution, enhance security of supply, and support the country’s energy transition.

Our accumulated experience in Asia and the flexibility of our operating model have been key factors in securing our entry into the Australian market. In this way, we further consolidate our role as a global benchmark in the management of energy infrastructures.
